This is a phishing scam. Got a call and VM this morning from this number. The voicemail did a good job of making it sound like a legitimate call from American Express, with a reference number and extension. I called the actual American Express and they confirmed that this is not one of their numbers. Do not give any information to this number.
This is an Amex number. I called the number that was left on my voice mail (800-437-3600), answered the questions, then suspecting a scam, called Amex number that on their web site and they had the details of my call.
They did however leave the message on a diferent number I did not give them. Must have gotten it from the credit file.
ALWAYS call AMEX from the number on your credit card (or any other credit card company or bank.)
I called AMEX - this is not one of their numbers.
The people posting here saying it IS AMEX - are the scammers themselves. They know people use these sites, so they load them up with assurances that it is legit.
Again - anytime anyone CALLS YOU - call back to the number on your card.
I am sorry to say, I will enjoy watching these people burn in hell.
Recieved a call said it was Carolin with american express I should call the sarasota police they have my lost property.I have no lost property and have not been to florida in 10 years.30 minutes later I get another call from the same number and my voice mail has 5 minutes of piano music nothing else.
