A legitimate debt collection company would not hang up on you for requesting an address. There's no such thing as a restraining order involving a debt. It is against the law to threaten you, as this employee did. Verify that you really have an unpaid debt by contacting Bank of America AND checking your credit reports from the three credit reporting companies (in case there's erroneous info on them that needs to be corrected). Also, check the statute of limitations for debts in your state; you're already more than 7 years past the alleged unpaid debt. It's possible that your state has laws to get a debt that old expunged from your records -- and that's assuming you really did owe it in the first place. If, indeed, the claims about a 2003 debt are false, or if they're trying to coerce you into paying a debt that's past the statute of limitations for your state, it's in your best interests to file a report against Litigation Support Services with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
I received the same call about restraining order and all the stuff...When I looked up the affidavit number it comes up with a sewer issue in Atlanta back in 2002...not sure and not calling the number back...they serve papers like that in person.
Wow, what a scam!!! Same number, Litigation Support Services, only I fell for it to the tune of 506.22. tThat really hurts. Deffintie scam. NEVER give personal info over the phone!!!!
for everyone who has been left this message I got one from a Flordia number last week and almost made a settlement. I called the Attorney General Office in Flordia they said there is no such business and that it is a scam. I also talked to my Attorney and he said that they serve you first and then they work on a settlement. The message I got today on 804-767-4880 was they same message that I got on the Flordia number. That I was going to be seved a restraining order and gave me a case number which was almost the same as the one I got from Flordia except for the first three numbers and letters. What a scam Why would they serve a restraining order on a debt, they wouldn't And without any paper work they are not legal.
Just received a call from Litigation Support Services. I looked it up on line and saw this forum. I called the company and spoke to an Amy Austin and Jessica Rice (Supervisor). I asked them for their address to LSS and they said they could not give out thier physical address due to security reasons. I then asked them for their mailing address and the Supervisor got upset. I told them I read on line it was a scam. I think I'm going to call the BBB.
These ppl(Amy Austin) called my moms house and told her she was in litigations and needed to speak to me and gave her this reference# 20L1993. I tried calling the number back but got a msg to push options but neither applied to me. I just decided to Google it and found this message board about it. I ain't worried, they can get in line if they want to collect.
