A legitimate debt collection company would not hang up on you for requesting an address. There's no such thing as a restraining order involving a debt. It is against the law to threaten you, as this employee did. Verify that you really have an unpaid debt by contacting Bank of America AND checking your credit reports from the three credit reporting companies (in case there's erroneous info on them that needs to be corrected). Also, check the statute of limitations for debts in your state; you're already more than 7 years past the alleged unpaid debt. It's possible that your state has laws to get a debt that old expunged from your records -- and that's assuming you really did owe it in the first place. If, indeed, the claims about a 2003 debt are false, or if they're trying to coerce you into paying a debt that's past the statute of limitations for your state, it's in your best interests to file a report against Litigation Support Services with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
i spoke with ms. white from litigation support services today... was told that i owed a debt and i needed to pay or else they would be filing a lawsuit against me...that my wages would be garnished and they could possibly seize my asets.. i am a home owner and i work hard for what i have.. i dont want all of it to go down the drain for a debt that fell through the cracks... they wanted my banking info for payments and when they asked i hung up and googled the number and name of company and all this information has me confused... i mean it does make sense that they would be able to sue.. if i someone owed me and wouldnt pay i would sue them... i searched the name litigation support services and found that lots of companies offer litigation support services to help with filing law suits... one company i saw was foley and lardner llp and i think i recall ms. white mentioning that name... is this real or not cause im literally in tears... to lose so much for so little would be crazy... if anyone can actually prove to me they are a scam or give me a reason not to pay please reply back... im going to wait a week hopefully nothing happens before then... i hope this is a scam..
a guy from areas appraisers inc showed up at my door. i dint answer but they left the card in th mailbox. they are a va based appraiser and the calls from lss are coming from a va area code. if this is a scam i dont think they would go to these lengths. i think im just going to try and pay and stop this before it goes any farther. i will post if anything suspicious happens. again i ask if anyone has any info that would prove they are not capable of taking me to court please post.... i hope this all goes well

Don't pay anything!!!! Stop right now and call your local police department and report what's just happened to you. THIS IS A SCAM. I received a call from this same number this afternoon from a woman who identified herself as "Michelle Howard, Special Investigator", who called to inform my husband that a complaint had been filed against him and he had been named a respondent in a court action which carried a restraining order. She said he should forward this information to his attorney within 24 to 48 hours. She ended the message with "Good Luck".
I immediately did a reverse lookup on the number and found where you had also received calls from this number, but concerning a different matter. Whatthey want is you banking information. I hope to God you haven't caved in and given it to them. If you have, call your bank immediately and stop everything you can from further damage. I am calling my local police department as soos as I finish typing this message, and I hope you do, also.
