A legitimate debt collection company would not hang up on you for requesting an address. There's no such thing as a restraining order involving a debt. It is against the law to threaten you, as this employee did. Verify that you really have an unpaid debt by contacting Bank of America AND checking your credit reports from the three credit reporting companies (in case there's erroneous info on them that needs to be corrected). Also, check the statute of limitations for debts in your state; you're already more than 7 years past the alleged unpaid debt. It's possible that your state has laws to get a debt that old expunged from your records -- and that's assuming you really did owe it in the first place. If, indeed, the claims about a 2003 debt are false, or if they're trying to coerce you into paying a debt that's past the statute of limitations for your state, it's in your best interests to file a report against Litigation Support Services with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).

Actually court records are completely diff. than medical records, court records are public knowledge you can post a child molesters picture on a billboard with his criminal record if you wanted to, you can call your county clerks office and get legal information on ANYBODY all you need is there name you can get any civil info and any criminal info as long as it doesnt pertain to a juvenile if you dont believe me go ahead and call your county clerks office. With that said i got a call too from this number i was a little skeptical so i googled the number like yall did all it really is a clever way to collect a debt i doubt its a scam i used to work in collections i know how this goes someone buys a debt portfolio and then they own the rights to collect the debt nothing is illegal unless they curse at you or threaten you. now telling someone they are going to take you to court isnt considered a threat see what they do is try to collect the debt first if they are unale to collect the debt they show "PROOF OF DEBT" to the courts then they sue you hoping that you wont show up to the trial so they can be awarded a Judgment against you.Everyone on this blog should do a little more reasearch about what can actually happen if yo have defaulted on a card.Just ignoring them or making yourself feel better buy saying they are a fraud isnt gonna cut it you have to know your rights what you can do so they cant call and what can happen if you do owe the debt and to get a settlement so you dont have to pay as much also the restraining order is pertaining to the Judgment it restrains yor assests in other words garnish your wages i would check my state law some states like texas dont allow wage garnishment like i sadi do your research find out what consequences can happen for unresolved debt now why do they say restraining order instead of judment when they mean the same thing ? to get you to call DUH like i said clever just remeber you have options you can fight this in court and dispute the matter or you can settle that is your choice
