FTP - No idea who they are or what they do....but they are not calling for any legit reason, its a cold call.
An EXTREMELY rude and whiny (it was almost comical) lady called today and asked for John. We have (withing the C-Level alone) 6 Johns. I asked which John she needed.
"Well, the owner of the company."
Red Flag #1 - She doesn't know who she is calling. I answer the phone for a holding company, so there are at least 8 different "owners".
I told her I answer the phone for several companies, and asked her which one was she referring to?
Red Flag #2 - She SLAUGHTERED the name of the company (it's phonetic, and not hard at all), which usually means she has no legit business.
Called and hung up on me., but the caller ID called them "FPT." I can see that they were called "Crescent" before, but I'm guessing they had to change names when their bad reputation caught up with them. We get scam calls all the time, but it's naive to think that these people care about the DNC list. They're already criminals, why would they care about some governmental list?
They called our business yesterday. It was a man and he asked for my husband by name. I asked who was calling and he gave me some name (he had a bit of an accent and I didn't understand). I asked what he was calling about and he gave me the name of something that had merchant account in it. I told him to remove our number and not to call again. Of course, I don't expect them to honor my request. Grrr...
