We don't even have credit cards. When it asked to push 1 to be transferred to a representative, I did so and simply said, "How do I get removed from your call list?"...they hung up. I called back and got a recording that said, "Thank you for calling back. To be removed from this list press 1 (again) which I did. I do not expect to stop receiving these calls. If anyone knows what I need to do to get them to stop, I'm all over it.
Um...wa-ah? Why is it ok for a telemarketer, even a legitimate one (which doesn't apply in the case of this outfit) to interrupt me when I am the one paying for the connection? If I choose not to be harrassed by their constant calls, I have that right now. If you worked for a legitimate research company, the Do Not Call list wouldn't have affected you, as research/poll and political (don't get me started on those!) calls are exempted from the DNC. The DNC would have had no affect on your company's down-sizing. That came from your supposed employer's choices, not from regulation.
More likely, you worked for a pseudo-research company who, once a "customer" is reeled in in the name of "research", you sell their information to other sleezoid companies who then harrass them as well. Or perhaps you called them back to tell them they "won a prize" in a contest they were entered in for answering your questions and they can have that prize, if only they'll give you their CC number or bank account number to pay for "shipping and handling"
Oh, and if you truly have a degree in accounting as you claim, last I checked, that involved a lot of sitting on your rear end, looking at numbers -- the same thing you would do if you had a telemarketing job, only it would be far more legitimate and far less annoying to others. I find it interesting that you chose to tell your sob story here. Screams telemarketer TROLL to me.
Automated voice prompt announced that they have reviewed my account, that my debt was over 3000 dollars. They could reduce my bill if I push 1. I pushed 1, the woman answered. I asked her how much debt do I have? I have no credit cards. I was immediately Hung up on. It's a scam! I'm filing a complaint.

I have got so many calls from this number with TECLO in the caller ID. When I as them who they are or to remove me from their call list, they just hang up. Why can't something be done about this scam of trying to get me to buy a credit card.
