Have been calling several times a day for over a month. They are trying to solicit payment history information for our customer to build their "payment history" database.
They make it seem like an urgent matter with a case number asking us to resolve this important matter for our customer. The number they leave to call back just rings with no answer. 866-658-3140
I called the 973-929-3290 number and told them what happened with the other number, that we do not give out that kind of information about our customers, and to please stop calling. They pretend not to know anything about it then transfer me back to the unanswered 866 number. I did get put through to someone's voice mail after calling the 973 number back after they put me through to the unanswered 866 number. I again asked them to stop calling, that we do not give out that information, and that we are seriously annoyed at the interruptions and wasted time and resources. They called again after that in the afternoon. Complaint filed with FTC and will never do business with D&B or its affiliates again.
your answer to all questions or comments posted here seems to be a cut-and-paste monologue that has no personal interaction with your customers whatsoever! highly doubt you've even taken any efforts to read what the people are saying here! how can anyone trust you with giving their vital business information to you if your own business is conducted in such an unprofessional way?
This is Dunn & Bradstreet. They are a company that gets information from businesses about other businesses and their payment history. Kinda like a credit reporting agency on businesses' paying history. You pay a yearly service fee, report to them whether your vendors or customers pay on time or pay late and also get payment history on potential customers and vendors. As a small business owner, I paid for a year of service and saw no real value. If you are a company that intends to extend a large amount of credit to another company, this might be for you.
This really is Dun & Bradstreet! My girlfriend works for them and I never bothered saving the number she calls me from since I can't call it back without getting their main machine anyway. I forgot one day and googled it when the number called me and happened upon this site. It's real, whether you want to hear from them or not or why they are calling your cell phones I have no idea, but just thought I would let you know that it really is them.
RE it "really" being Dun & Bradstreet - I doubt it. Many of these calls probably have the caller ID info spoofed. Either way, our company has no use for them so we don't answer.
