Have been calling several times a day for over a month. They are trying to solicit payment history information for our customer to build their "payment history" database.
They make it seem like an urgent matter with a case number asking us to resolve this important matter for our customer. The number they leave to call back just rings with no answer. 866-658-3140
I called the 973-929-3290 number and told them what happened with the other number, that we do not give out that kind of information about our customers, and to please stop calling. They pretend not to know anything about it then transfer me back to the unanswered 866 number. I did get put through to someone's voice mail after calling the 973 number back after they put me through to the unanswered 866 number. I again asked them to stop calling, that we do not give out that information, and that we are seriously annoyed at the interruptions and wasted time and resources. They called again after that in the afternoon. Complaint filed with FTC and will never do business with D&B or its affiliates again.
This is not the first time my company has received calls from this and other phone numbers claiming to be Dun & Bradstreet.
-Sounds like an off shore call center.
-Most times the calls are after business hours. When they do call during our business hours, the party is usually rude, demanding, and in some cases the accent has been so bad as to be unintelligible.
-The representative is repeatedly informed that our company has provided Dun & Bradstreet with a specific name and direct phone number of the person they -must- contact for all business information and transactions (Fax number had also been provided for credit reference requests).
-Unfortunately this response to their representatives demands seems to elicit an increase in irritability and a sudden increase in the number of phone calls per day, usually lasting for at least a month. They eventually cease only to begin again two months or so later. My company considers this tactic vindictive, immature, and unprofessional. And personally I agree with them.
-In this day and age of internet reviews, if I were Dun & Bradstreet (or any company for that matter), I would be concerned with the 9 pages (or more) of complaints not being a very good reflection on their company.
Received phone call from this number today. Wanted business info. They had wrong address for our company. Sounded like a scam so googled their phone number while on the phone. Fond this website and hung up.
I just got a call from this number to the number on my company's website which is just a voicemail. I did sign up for a new D&B number yesterday because we changed from an LLC to a S Corp, so I would expect them to call me and try to sell me a bunch of follow on products. I have been down this road with them before. They do the hard sell for all kinds of credit products which I don't want. I just want to be listed. I have potential clients asking for my DUNS number. So, this is really D&B and not a scam however they are trying to aggressively sell. And yes Dun is spelled with one "n".

We set up a new LLC through LegalZoom, and while they did a great job at a reasonable price, we have since been inundated with telemarketing-type calls. Dun & Bradstreet is among the two worst ones. They use typical telemarketing tactics, even using different numbers to thwart our call blocker box. Luckily, we still have room for a thousand or so more numbers in its memory. They appear to want to sell us credit products and assorted reports and database access, exactly zero of which we need. D&B is mainly a HINDRANCE to us, we do not need anything from them and we would NEVER respond to their repeated solicitation calls.
