Have been calling several times a day for over a month. They are trying to solicit payment history information for our customer to build their "payment history" database.
They make it seem like an urgent matter with a case number asking us to resolve this important matter for our customer. The number they leave to call back just rings with no answer. 866-658-3140
I called the 973-929-3290 number and told them what happened with the other number, that we do not give out that kind of information about our customers, and to please stop calling. They pretend not to know anything about it then transfer me back to the unanswered 866 number. I did get put through to someone's voice mail after calling the 973 number back after they put me through to the unanswered 866 number. I again asked them to stop calling, that we do not give out that information, and that we are seriously annoyed at the interruptions and wasted time and resources. They called again after that in the afternoon. Complaint filed with FTC and will never do business with D&B or its affiliates again.
Just tried an online chat with D&B. I got nowhere with that, but was told to call 800-234-3867 to resolve it. Their automated voice recognition phone hell sent me through to a real person when I broke into a pig Latin monologue. The guy that finally answered wanted a surprising pantload of information, and I explained firmly that he would be given only TWO THINGS - my name and my phone number. If that was going to be a problem toward stopping the calls, said I, I'd be more than happy to get the FCC complaint started, with a side of unleashing my recovering federal attorney wife upon them. We have an understanding that one more call and it shall be done. D&B - I double dog dare you!
"Dun&Bradstreet" called twice...yesterday and today, seeking the same info as everyone else has posted. Get a life, scammers. We're all too busy to play. I'm also reporting this number to the FCC.
I had two missed calls on my mobile from this number... no messages. I returned the call and got a D&B recording. Then I Googled this site and became suspicious. So I called D&B customer service directly and they verified the number is for their Sales Dept. It's good to be cautious given all the scammers and phishers out there. But now I know that I'm really dealing with D&B, I can handle the call appropriately. Though I still likely won't buy whatever their selling.
Called my work asking us to share one of our customer's payment history with them. They even gave an case reference ID number. Seems a little off because I do not take care of these matters.
