Just got a call from 213-333-3206 claiming the whole "your gonna crash your computer" "using microsoft windows" "sending error reports" stuff. Told him it sounded like a scam and ended the call. Looked up the number and well you know the rest if you are reading this.
caller asked for my partner, I asked him to hold on and never went back to the phone
so tired of these telemarketers, why doesn't DO NOT CALL stop them?
Two guys on the phone from "Windows" calling as I was generating error messages. They had me access eventvwr to see what malicious virus had been downloaded. He gave me his personal cell number, Mr. Judas Henry for me to call back and get the problem fixed.
I have the same story as everyone else. I hung up on him and then called the number back. I tried to leave a message asking them to call me back with more information (I was hoping to get someone who wasn't working in a call center) but the message hung up on me before I tried to give my phone number. I'm calling this a telemarketer call, but I am pretty certain it is a scam of some sort.
I received a call from this number and a guy with an Indian accent asked how my computer was running? When I inquired who was calling he said, "the Windows technical dept." I asked what his registration number was and he paused before giving me a long series of numbers. I replied, "I don't believe you!" and hung up.
