Got a call from them for the past 3 days. Called it back once, they won't tell you who is suing you. They give you 3 options, pay off your debt, do a monthly payment which is more or go to court. It's a scam.
I received a call from this number today at my office in South Carolina. It's a recorded message saying that I'm being sued and that this phone call served as my official notification about the lawsuit. The message sounds like an actual woman talking and provides no personal information (e.g. doesn't address you by name). I called it back and a live person answered the phone but the phone was too low to hear the name of the business. They said they were looking for someone but no one by that name works at my place of business. I'm not sure if they're scammers or not.
Criminals masquerading as debt collectors attempt to extort money from people by scaring you into believing that you will be criminally charged (they use the bad check or hot check claim a lot) and go to jail, lose your driver’s license, have wages garnished without actually being sued or going to court, be sued, and a variety of other variations on this, all for an alleged or nonexistent debt. One of the tricks they use is to call your family, friends, neighbors and/or places of employment (past or present or both) to create panic and embarrassment so that their intended victim calls them and they can scare that person into paying their extortion money. They also use the “process server” ruse who calls and claims he is going to serve you, but then says you could avoid it by calling another number where they will ask for money to “make it go away” (this is actually the same place, they work in teams, one pretending to be the server, and the other usually pretends to be a lawyer). Process servers do not ever call ahead so that you can dodge them. Process servers get paid to serve papers, nothing else.

Got VM at 12p today, stating calling for-then went silent (Name not said) in regards to reference number and went silent again and then to call 307-206-4539 and to consider this being served and if we didn't respond we would be served in our local area but did not say for what. Im from MA.
Yesterday got similar message from 617-939-0123, except they had my name and gave the reference #. When I called them back I realized that they were looking for my mother in-law, who happens to have similar name. They called regarding the legit medical bill that she's actually paying off and not only knew her address but also last 2 digits of her SS#. I'm not sure if they know the intire SS# but, jokes aside, it is extremely concerning.
Just got a lovely, choppy voicemail on my work cell stating that they were going to come and serve me. That I could call 307-206-4539. No name of the caller or of the company. Scam, scam, scam!
