Called me and I foolishly gave them info on my card, then called my card company to stop my card and issue another, just had a feeling that they were not on the level. Then discovered all these comments, glad I stopped my card!!
Card Member Services is part of Chase. If you have or ever had a CC from Chase this is how they got you number. When doing a Do Not Call report list the caller as Chase.
If you want to make sure this "business" goes out of business, file a complaint with the FTC at FTC.gov. I just did. They've been calling me for weeks and hang up on me every time I tell them to take me off their list.
The Do Not Call Registry doesn't work on places like this because they won't honor the system. The DNCR works on an honors system, so legitimate companies will take your number off their lists if you register, but it's companies like this who ignore the rules and continue to call.
"Debbie" answered the phone when I hit 9 and sounded very rushed. She would only tell me she was with "Account Services". She asked if I was trying to get my interest rate lowered or have my number taken off the list. When I told her to remove my number, she said she could help with that and hung up. This is the 5th call I've gotten from them. The other 4 were from a number in "Denver, CO".
2nd time I've received a call with the same automated message (different # last time). I didn't press #9 to speak with a rep because I knew it was scam. As usual, I'm filing a complaint at the donotcall registry website. Seems to help when I do this: the calls have really dropped over the past few years.
