Received several phone calls from this number.  Both times it said it was BofA and that my debit card has been cancelled.  It hasn't.  I went to a BofA branch and all is fine with my card...no suspicious activity either.  Would like to STOP receiving these calls

Bank of America recorded message regarding a claim we made on false charges on our checking/debit card. They correctly advised us that the matter was resolved and paperwork was forthcoming in the mail. It was not a fradulent call, no acct infomation was asked for.

I'm with NG on this one. It sounds like it is a Legit number, but someone has ghosted the number, as well. Which would make the ghost a scam. I just changed my password yesterday and today I got a call from this number. So, it sounds right. How would someone else know I changed my password? And other details people have noted.

Moral of the story, you should always be careful, no matter what. Real or Fake.

FYI, There are apps out there that will let you spoof your caller ID info. I could call anyone of you from the White House number right now via an App from the Google Play market. I do it to my friends all the time from crazy numbers. So, I'm sure if someone like me will use it for pranks, the real Scammers out here will use it to trick you into thinking they really are the Bank.

Rule of thumb people, never disclose any information over the phone if your not comfortable. Go to the bank in person. Especially if you didn't initiate the call.

This is actually a real Bank of America message only number.  I had received a new debit card the day before the call from this number.  The call was merely reminding me to activate my new card, and that my old one would be de-activated.

Oh, one more thing. This wouldn't be the first time I've had someone call me on "behalf" of the bank and the bank not know their number. When I was working on a Re-Mod, the department I dealt with was a debt collector for the bank and not actually BofA. BofA is so large, calling the general 800 number is just going to get you a general customer service person. Unless, someone at the bank is selling this information, there is no way for anyone to know you made changes to your account. I could see them trying to login and not being able too and then knowing you changed your password, but anything else would be almost impossible to get, in that amount of time.
