It is Bank of America. The voicemail I received said my account had been compromised and to call the number on the back of my card. They did not leave a number to call. I did and was told yes, it was true. My account had been compromised and they had already mailed a new card to me.
So I got the call, didn't answer it. They left a voice mail saying that my information has been changed and only to call back if I thought this was wrong. I changed the address on my Credit Card with them roughly the day before the call. I called a Bank of America number that I know is them for sure and asked if this was them calling... they said no... and said it was probably just fraud and pretty much brushed it off... I then asked if they even cared about it or had any intentions of doing anything about it. The lady seemed puzzled then transferred me to 'Fraud' at which point the phone just gave me a busy signal and hung up.
Obviously this is in some way related to Bank of America unless someone was listening in on my phone call while I was at home dropping a deuce before work and changing my address on my credit card the morning before. (not 100% impossible... but seriously?)
Got a call from this number and they DID leave a voicemail, and it was from Bank of America about the compromise of some credit card numbers, of which I had already received replacement cards in the mail. The voicemail just advised me that the old cards would be deactivated and to make sure to activate the new cards. This was a legitimate call.
I changed my address last night and this number called me this morning and let me know account information had been changed. Makes sense since online it said it could be thenext business day before it was updated. This is just a security featuer, so if you did not recenlty make changes call BofA at their normal # 1-800-432-1000 and ask them whats going on.
i changed my address online on the bank of america website. this is just the security call telling me that i have changed my information. i am thankful for it actually. thanks bank of america!!
