It is Bank of America. The voicemail I received said my account had been compromised and to call the number on the back of my card. They did not leave a number to call. I did and was told yes, it was true. My account had been compromised and they had already mailed a new card to me.
Just got a call and let it go to voice mail, the recording was a female stating that changes have been made to a BOA account electronically, if this is incorrect please call a 1-866 number. I did make changes to one of my accounts within the past 3 days so for me it seems legitimate. If anyone has any doubts about the call, contact the BOA security number or email them. You can also go into any location and ask for help from a Manager.
This number could also be a Third Party number that BOA has outsourced to contact customers regarding certain situations. The owner of the phone number could also be using the number for other organizations (legit or not).
I think this number actually is a BoA #...I got a new debit card in the mail yesterday as they said that there was a chance my account may have been compromised. This voicemail that was left was simply stating that they sent me a new debit card and I should activate it immediately. It didn't request a call back or any further information at all.
Just checked my voice mail from this incoming phone number. I only received part of the message that I couldn't connect with anything until I read the comments here. The message was that my statement was received and I didn't need to do any thing else. This is a number from the fraud company that Bank of America uses. The day after my credit card was used for a test charge of $.99 and then at apple itunes. BofA called me to check if these were my charges. They were not so my card was cancelled and the incident went to the fraud department for investigation. I still had my card with me and last used it at Frys Electronics. Makes me go hmmm.
