It is Bank of America. The voicemail I received said my account had been compromised and to call the number on the back of my card. They did not leave a number to call. I did and was told yes, it was true. My account had been compromised and they had already mailed a new card to me.
Got a call from this number, when I checked my voice mail there was dead silence, so I jst deleted it. Per above, though, maybe I should have listened 20 more seconds because apparently they do leave a message about 1 minute in. Googled the number and that's how I ended up here. Glad this site exists. Follow your gut and don't call a number you don't recognize. People are so shady!
Got the call today, 7/6/12 at 1:15pm... they also called the other day. Same message, someone had used my debit card and so they are going to be sending me a new card in the mail and to remember to activate it once I get it. Funny, I had received a new debit card about 2 weeks ago and had it checked out at the BOA before activating it and now they are going to send me another one??? I have had my card confiscated in the past 12 months and now it seems that everytime I use my card I am in jeopardy of getting it confiscated. This is why I would rather use cash instead of a debit card!!
