It is Bank of America. The voicemail I received said my account had been compromised and to call the number on the back of my card. They did not leave a number to call. I did and was told yes, it was true. My account had been compromised and they had already mailed a new card to me.
I got this call with the suspicious message. Checked it out on here. 10 mins later my girlfriend got the same call from the same number even though she is on a different network with a completely unrelated number.
IL, you are a scumbag working for the fraudsters who are calling on this number. The number is NOT a B of A number, period. No one should call back on the 800 number in their message, or call them back on any other number - they are phishing for your personal information. This is a SCAM pure and simple. And IL needs to spend a few months in the slammer for fraud because obviously he is working for them.
Just got a call and returned the call to the 866 number. Was told it was BofA fraud dept and as the girl was trying she was accessing public ally available info. I was letting her go through her schpiel until she got to the point of asking about related relatives and old addresses. NO bank would ever act this way and I told her so and hung up without divulging personal info. Will be calling and reporting this call. Thank you all for your posts.
Just got a call from this number. Left a message that was cut off at the beginning but ended " you do not need to take further action at this time. We will contact you if necessary" I read that some posts say it is bank of America, which makes me suspicious because I just dealt with someone using my card. This is def fraudulent.
This is a toll free number Bank of America uses with there fraud claims department. I've received this call today the prompt stated "They received my fraud paperwork and no further action will be required from me. " I got several calls from the same number last week stating they haven't received the paperwork yet as well.
