They asked for the one of my Software guys, he doesn't do IT - She asked to speak to the IT Manager. I told her I needed to more information before I could put her call through or take a message. She totally was unprepared and obviously under trained to respond. She asked to be transferred - when I said I needed a call back number in order to refer her to anyone in our company, she told me it was her company's policy not to give out their phone number. Red Flag I was looking for. After denying that she hung up. The poor girl was so badly trained I now feel a tiny remorse for being tough on her by putting her on the spot, but that's what I do.
They've been calling me here twice daily. They know my name and where I work, but their information suggests that I am an IT executive, which I am not. I have told them I will not answer their questions and not to call back, but they have clearly ignored that demand. Woman spoke with heavy unintelligible accent, but based on earlier posts here, I think that she identified herself as IT Brief.
Just got a call from this number and could barely hear the guy... he finally asked for a person by name and I asked who was calling. He said "Joe." I asked Joe what it was regarding and he mumbled something. I just said we're fine and hung up. I got a call from that number 15 mins. later and hung up immediately.
Just got a call from them as IT Brief. I have to give the guy credit to sticking to his script--
Me: Hello?
ITBrief: Hello, how are you today?
Me: Who is this?
ITBrief: I'm well, thank you
Besides that bit of inanity, he said he wanted to send me a white paper on sales tax. I told him we're non-profit and hung up.
This number called and asked to speak to our Vice President. When I pressed for the reason he said it was about an update to our CRM. I asked, "who runs our CRM?" He couldn't answer and than asked to speak to our VP again. I told him that without more detailed information and an appointment that he would never be put through. I explained that our VP is a very busy man. He responded "so am I and you are wasting my time" and he hung up on me. I tried to call back to speak to a supervisor and all I got was a "to be put on our no-call list please press 9". When I pressed 9, the call disconnected. Wish I could speak to this man again because I would give him a lesson on cold-calling. He has it all wrong. #irratated
