They asked for the one of my Software guys, he doesn't do IT - She asked to speak to the IT Manager. I told her I needed to more information before I could put her call through or take a message. She totally was unprepared and obviously under trained to respond. She asked to be transferred - when I said I needed a call back number in order to refer her to anyone in our company, she told me it was her company's policy not to give out their phone number. Red Flag I was looking for. After denying that she hung up. The poor girl was so badly trained I now feel a tiny remorse for being tough on her by putting her on the spot, but that's what I do.
WhitePages.com says it's a Verizon business landline number in Belvedere, CA and notes "Heavy SPAM activity suspected". Perhaps it's a US number for a call center operation in India.
Just a couple of calls without a message being left (Mon and Wed). This is a great service (800notes.com), and look here when I get suspicious calls like these.
They just called our company 20 or more times in the last hour asking for different people, who no longer work for us. Then they asked for the IT department. They said it was IT Brief. They had bad phone connections and heavy, heavy accents. I could barely understand who they were asking for. I told them to stop calling and take our number off their list. They called again and I angrily reiterated they need to remove us form their list. Haven't heard form them in 15 minutes. We will see.
Total call center going on here. In an hour and a half, 13 calls, same people, asking for people who have never worked here or no longer are. I transferred the first two to IT people and the rest are now on my reject list. I asked them several times to stop calling, that they have called several times and they are not getting the clue. I will continue to reject the call or put them on hold, and maybe once an hour answer and tell them to stop calling. It is very frustrating.
