By calling the POLICE (I hope NOT 911). What would you being saying to them (as to the nature of your call)?
"aaahhh, Hello, POLICE DEPT:......
It’s almost midnight and I just now got a phone call from someone (i.e. a solicitor)trying to sell me a newspaper subscription from the SF Chronicle and I want to make a complaint because they shouldn't be calling people this late at night." etc, etc...
By calling the police, it would fall into the same category as to this story:
LIKE THE RECORDING OF A PERSON WHO HAD CALLED 911 because....
there was a spider in there house and the person calling, feared spiders, and they were afraid it was going to bite them and wanted the spider out of there house.....
This number just recently started calling and always call in the evenings...they never leave a message and I never answer. I haven't called this number back...I looked up the number and it says that it's a land line in Marin, CA....phone service through time warner phone....that's all I know.
Called saying we had subscribed to the paper, which we had not and agreed to cancel the subscription but wanted us to leave a credit card payment with them.
I have been receiving calls from this number for several days - usually once a day but sometimes twice - always at random times. They never leave a message and everytime I have called back the number is busy. Today I answered the call and when I said hello it was silent. I said hello again and then they hung up. Very frustrating!
