By calling the POLICE (I hope NOT 911). What would you being saying to them (as to the nature of your call)?
"aaahhh, Hello, POLICE DEPT:......
It’s almost midnight and I just now got a phone call from someone (i.e. a solicitor)trying to sell me a newspaper subscription from the SF Chronicle and I want to make a complaint because they shouldn't be calling people this late at night." etc, etc...
By calling the police, it would fall into the same category as to this story:
LIKE THE RECORDING OF A PERSON WHO HAD CALLED 911 because....
there was a spider in there house and the person calling, feared spiders, and they were afraid it was going to bite them and wanted the spider out of there house.....
They called me at around 8:30 tonight and said that they were part of the SF Chronicle and wanted to drop off a free subscription of their paper or something. They asked for my zip code and I gave it. Then they proceeded to ask for my address and I felt uncomfortable giving my address to some random stranger over the phone. I asked them where they got my phone number and the guy said "Ma'am, I actually do not know." Oh, and the SF Chronicle's number is something like (415) 777-7777.
Same Thing, they call between 7:30PM and 8:30pm, tonight it was closer to 9:00pm. It hust started about a week ago. My number is unlisted. How do they get it?
