I had the same issue with Michael Montero very abusive and nasty. We agreed to settle a balance for August 22,2009 and I get a letter stateing that they will withdraw moies from my account on 7/22/09. This idiot straight out told me that oh! well this is the date so I told him that I will be canceling my checking acct. I was in good faith to pay my debt in august but then I get this wicked letter. Some thing has to me done with this guy Michael Montero. I bet this is not even his real name.
I did not get the man's name but he call and asked for a gal who did not live here. We have only had our phone number for about a week. I told him this and he said, "well thats funny because she just called me yesterday from this number" I told him that I was serious when I said she did not live here and that this was the Beckers residence. He replied saying " well I guess if you want to play it that way" and hung up on me!
Became abusive and said our number was listed on WhitePages.com as the contact for the person he was calling for and that if it was wrong we would have to contact WhitePages.com ourselves, he called back when I hung up on him
When the phone rings late at night and is not a number I know, I pick up the phone and hang up...so when I did, they called right back. When they called back I answer the phone, and they stated who they were looking for, and I said that, that person was in fact in bed - it's 11 Pm here, She seemed stunned - gave an attitude - and hung up.
FYI - It is Illegial to call any resident after 9Pm if you are a collections or like so business. Feel free to use that - they can be charged huge fines for doing so.
This number calls my cell phone everyday. I never pickup, just click the button to send it straight to voicemail. But they always immediately call back twice more, and twice more I send them to voicemail. No message is ever left.
My wife and I are getting calls from this agency two or three times a day with threatening language. I have told them to spot calling, but they continue to do so. It has been nearly two weeks now.
