I had the same issue with Michael Montero very abusive and nasty. We agreed to settle a balance for August 22,2009 and I get a letter stateing that they will withdraw moies from my account on 7/22/09. This idiot straight out told me that oh! well this is the date so I told him that I will be canceling my checking acct. I was in good faith to pay my debt in august but then I get this wicked letter. Some thing has to me done with this guy Michael Montero. I bet this is not even his real name.
I have got several calls within the past week. They have left unclear messages of what the call was in regards to. They call at various awkward times of the day(early a.m./late p.m.). I answered last evening & the gentleman assumed I was the person he was trying to reach & said that he got my number from the phone company & this call was in regards to a legal matter. The previous messages also stated the same. Obviously all of which I did & do not buy. The messages & the call from last evening all seemed very aggressive & rude. They have called twice this a.m. If they call again I am going to answer & let them know of my rights & that this IS harrasment. I would advise everyone to do the same. Maybe if enough of us do the same they will think twice in their approach in telephone call making. Good luck everyone!!!
I just got another call from 636-200-0119. I did not pick up the call in time to speak. A gentleman by the name of Charles Riggs left a very aggressive & rude message stating that this was a very important call & that it was imperative that I call him back today. He also stated that it was not a sales call. He left his extention(1-866-375-0887), so be leary my fellow harrassed people. I replied in a forwarded voice message to both phone numbers(636-200-0119 & 866-375-0887) stating that I have reported these harrassing calls to all of the necessary agencies & to stop calling me. I also stated that this was absolutely harrassment & would not be tolerated. Please do the same, even if it is in a forwarded voice response. Best of luck to all!!!
Called the numbebr back, they asked me for my social. we never got anything in the mail from them. I did not give the my social, they told me sorry cannot ehlp you and hung up, but keep on calling 3 4 times a day
I received a phone call on Saturday 04/26/08 at 8:00AM. The caller with a heavy Hispanic accent asked when I would pay the $594 balance owed to Capital One on a credit card. I explained that the account was paid in full and since closed. He requested that I fax him a copy of the statement showing a zero balance.
Instead, I reported it to the local police as an attempted identity theft. I also confirmed with Capital One that the account is closed with a zero balance.
I receved two more phone calls. Both times, the caller hung up when answered. I Googled the number and found that it belongs to an attorney, Dan Jordon and is located near St. Louis, MO
I will again report it to the police as an attempt at identity theft.
After seeing this number come up on our caller ID many times over the past week or so, I picked up and told one of their representatives two days ago that the person they are trying to contact does not live here. He was extremely evasive and deceptive. They have called six times today and left two messages regarding some file number and needing legal representation.
