Claimed to be a national Women's Business Networking organization, based in New York City. They had an ad on LinkedIn stating it was a free group. Pretended to interview me for this "prestigious" organization, then promptly wanted $500 - $750 for different membership levels. When I declined and said that the ad had said that they were a free organization and asked if that wasn't the case, the telemarketer lectured me on how it's an honor to be included in this group and it was unprofessional to ask her about cost. Very rude. I was transferred between two people - Stacy and Kelly.
They called me today also saying that is from MacEwan association, where I studied in true, but think they are fishing us in facebook and linked in, once we need to put some information to make our resume or curriculum it's easy to them do it, if we don't put those information there nobody will know about us, in other hand some scoundrels know about us too. Today Morning, October 29, 2016, 11 a.m. they called me. I didn't understand what the woman wanted, I was really busy.
They are calling me several times a day! Today I did answer and after being interviewed for a kind lady (who congratulated me every time I stop talking..) I was offered a diploma that would say how wonderful I am, and of course I will have to pay either USD 798 or 999. At that time I hanged up, will never answer their calls again!
I started receiving calls on 11/1 - they call 2-3 x per day - I think I answered the first one but there was just silence - so I have not answered any since - but it is so annoying!!!
A man named Sam Rosen called me saying he had found my information on LinkedIn via Houghton College. He talked to me for about fifteen minutes. When I told him, I had to think about the offer, he said, "We can't go back and forth. We have thousands of applications to process." Not even a minute later, he asked for my credit card number. I said, "This isn't for me." I hung up. I'm not paying a few hundred dollars to have my name on a list.
I have gotten several calls from this number and reading the entries from several people jogged my memory that I recently clicked on a link on FB about some "professional" organization (can't remember the name) that would help you network with other professionals and it was based in NY. I believe that this is the organization that keeps calling but I am also suspicious after reading on their site, that you will get NOTHING from them unless you pay. I'm going to ignore/block the number.
