Claimed to be a national Women's Business Networking organization, based in New York City. They had an ad on LinkedIn stating it was a free group. Pretended to interview me for this "prestigious" organization, then promptly wanted $500 - $750 for different membership levels. When I declined and said that the ad had said that they were a free organization and asked if that wasn't the case, the telemarketer lectured me on how it's an honor to be included in this group and it was unprofessional to ask her about cost. Very rude. I was transferred between two people - Stacy and Kelly.
646-866-6779, 929-382-2447, both are land lines and have tried calling my cell phone. I didn't answer the calls because both are from New York. I don't know anyone from New York so figured it was telemarketing. I then looked up both numbers online and so many complaints! For both numbers folks are stating it's in conjunction with LinkedIn. I've also had another number call me and found out it was a cell number and again from New York. It is 516-256-9942 and belongs to a Charles Rawlins. I have filed a complaint with LinkedIn. The reason I filed the complaint is because I DID sign up to be a member of NAABW which they say stands for North American Association of Business Women. Shame on me for not checking them out first. Now they are calling my work. The first time was yesterday and I sent them to my voice mail, they acted like they were leaving a message but they did not say a word. This gal had said she was from world wide business organization for women, which I did not sign up for. What legit Organization doesn't leave a voice mail? If this keeps up, I will have to tell them I'm recording the call.
