Claimed to be a national Women's Business Networking organization, based in New York City. They had an ad on LinkedIn stating it was a free group. Pretended to interview me for this "prestigious" organization, then promptly wanted $500 - $750 for different membership levels. When I declined and said that the ad had said that they were a free organization and asked if that wasn't the case, the telemarketer lectured me on how it's an honor to be included in this group and it was unprofessional to ask her about cost. Very rude. I was transferred between two people - Stacy and Kelly.
Same thing. Since clicking on the link on LinkedIn (and not filling out the application - which was ridiculously long and the ad, itself, was very misleading), they've called 4-5 times per day.
Womens Association. They state I applied which I did not. They state they are the largest women's online organization - which they are not. Very shady characters. Do not trust them.
I just got 2 calls on my office phone from this number back to back with no message left. I also applied to join a women's business group on LinkedIn, but I was declined. If its them calling I am sure as heck not joining now.
It is a networking agency. Interview, then telling you to be elected for the network and asking you to pay 1000+ usd immediately by providing credit card details.
