Claimed to be a national Women's Business Networking organization, based in New York City. They had an ad on LinkedIn stating it was a free group. Pretended to interview me for this "prestigious" organization, then promptly wanted $500 - $750 for different membership levels. When I declined and said that the ad had said that they were a free organization and asked if that wasn't the case, the telemarketer lectured me on how it's an honor to be included in this group and it was unprofessional to ask her about cost. Very rude. I was transferred between two people - Stacy and Kelly.
Same call to me. I live in The Netherlands. I did sign up through LinkedIn. The kind lady interviewed me and congratulated me on being part of an international network. She then gave me the option to choose from two membership deals. 5 years or lifetime. Payment through credit card. Which I honestly do not have. She then got pissed saying all professional people have credit cards so I repeated my answer, I don't have a credit card. She quickly said call me when you change your mind at 1-866-3522387 #264. Says her name is Chelsey Taylor and hung up! Was funny talking to her though, we do not get these kind of ads here in The Netherlands. It's illegal to seel through phone calls here....
I've been receiving calls from this number. Today I picked up and was told that they're calling re: an application I placed through my undergrad school and rattled off my email and phone number. When I asked three times, what application, the caller just repeated the above...application...undergrad school...I told her not to call again and hung up. Of course, she called right back. They've called several times a day over the last couple weeks. I hope this is the last I hear from them.
