just received the identical call. Told caller I have many grandsons and tell me your first name. Caller hung up. Got to find a way of getting rid of these kinds of calls. Number is now blocked on my phone
My grandmother called me crying because she just received a call that my cousin was in jail and she needed to wire 1700 to the US Marshall. Luckily, she called me before proceeding. I googled the number and of course we all know what the results were. I then called the number and stated I was an attorney and demanded to know who this was and what kind of fraud they were trying to pull. Of course they hung up on me, but had the audacity to call my grandmom back. Fortunately, my grandmother called the police and the officer was in her house when the second phone came through. Of course the perps hung up. This is a disgrace and I am reporting to the NY OIG fraud division.
Dang, the dudes with this number really gets around. Told me he was in Denver and would not recognize his voice 'cause he had been in a wreck and airbag busted his nose, suspected of DUI, had drank a couple, but was not drunk, but still in jail and needed bail money. Wanted Grandpa Robert, or thought I was grandpa Robert which is not me, and I have no living Grandparents. Upon questioning who he was and who he was looking for he just hung up. Yea, checking # it is from NY, could not be found or was reported as a scammer # depending on which reverse phone # site you checked. Dude has to be so stupid to think I am so stupid that I would send money to an out of the blue call from someone claiming to be a relative and does not even know my name, and with todays technology can be traced right from my computer. So, sorry Aidenmike Willowsmith, try getting a real and legal job as you will be reported!
got a call saying it was my grandson and he had been in a wreck. his lip was swollen shut that is why he was talking funny. I responded I will call your mother and he hung up. I knew it was a scam.
