just received the identical call. Told caller I have many grandsons and tell me your first name. Caller hung up. Got to find a way of getting rid of these kinds of calls. Number is now blocked on my phone
I received a phone call from a Latino identifying himself as my grandson saying he was in jail in
Oklahoma City. Wanted me to contact his attorney to talk about posting bail. Called (405) 455 5385,
spoke to a "James Johnson" who claimed to be an attorney. I explained I could not help him and
the call was disconnected. Subsequently, I found out when I spoke with my "real" son-in-law, that he was at home, not in jail for anything. The really "spookie" thing was the first person actually sounded like my Latino son-in-law.
Called Houston Police Dept and am filing a "fraud" report.
They're not that smart: some people who answer the phone are simply that gullible. Get a computer ... look up the area code. Ask a few questions to verify identity; tell them you'll call back and then check with the person they're pretending to be. Better yet, get caller ID and don't answer the phone unless you recognize the number, and Never ever send money!!!
