I came home from work and had a message from this woman stating that I had to call this number and gave me this phone number to call back on. something about being a state and legal problem and I had to use this case number she gave me. Then she said I had to call back before they started legal action. My boss told me if if was legal action, they would contact me by mail and not leave a message on the phone. Apparently this is a scam, so i just didn't call it back. She didn't give a company or even an lawyers name. if it was a legal situation, they would of at least given the name of the lawyer or attorneys office name.
I received a call from Joann Smith saying i had fraudulent charge against my ss number. She told me i owed 980. If i don't it would be a federal charge. Thursday the manager Jason called saying to contact them our their attorneys would file charges. Today a carrier named Michael Robertson says hes in route to serve me and I need to make myself available tomorrow 12-3 or he will go to my job or family if he has to and its federal. Bring 2 forms of id and a witness to get my subpoena. I called my attorney general in TN and Oracle can't collect because they're not licensed and the are a scam.
Joann Smith called today and misrepresented herself as a 'detective' and said I had 2 hours to pay almost $1000 in order to avoid arrest in 2 hours on an overdue loan. We have no loan with them and when calling her back she acts like she can't hear me (like I've pushed the mute button). Interesting enough, she just called me back on a blocked phone number and while talking with her, I told her I had called the police - she again got that 'I can't hear you' line going and quickly hung up. Hopefully, we will never hear from her again. But beware of her...she is a scammer - do not give any SS# or DOB information to her. 7/15/15
Joann Smith left a message on my cell phone about a notification for Richard Lee Holgren in a Fraud case about social security numbers filed with the Clackamas County District Courts, Case # 138-1262. When I called back I left a message to take my number off their list. She called back and I asked who she is and what her role is. She pretended to be an investigator for the Oracle Group and sounded like a Police Officer which made me really suspicious. I checked with the Court and my local Police Department.
No such Case # nor name at Clackamas County District Court. I reported her to the Oregon Department of Justice - Attorney Generals office 503-655-8447 and was told this is a scam and she is a fraud herself.
I received a call from this company from 716-242-5220 on 8/11/2015 stating a client forwarded them a bill I supposedly owed, (in which I paid off July 2015) and that if I don't send them the money today by 4:00 pm, municipal and judiciary action will begin. This is against the law and a scam; I also have copies of the letter settlement and receipt showing the account is closed. The guy called again and I stated I had my attorney and the local police involved and he left me his fax number, as if he was legit. I never heard from him again. This company is a complete scam. I received calls from them stating that they were a mediator licensed in my state and could arrange a settlement on my debt and that if i did not pay them i would receive summons and be sued. Upon researching their phone number (they refused to say the company from which they were calling) I found that it was Oracle Financial Group (debt collector) out of Buffalo, NY. This company has several complaints on them and an alert on their page on the BBB website. I decided i should probably pull my credit reports to see if i even owed them anything (maybe some old debt was sold to them?) or if they reported something on there. After looking thru all three bureau reports, i do not owe this company anything, they hold no old or current debts of mine. On top of that i noticed they made a hard inquiry into my Experian credit report! This is completely illegal as, i did not give them any sort of permission to do so and they do not hold any of my debts, so there is no reason for them to access this other than for fraudulent means! This company is a complete scam - they buy your information and then illegally pull your credit report in order to pose as a company who you are indebted so they can steal your money. If you received a call from these scam artists, do not deal with them, you most likely owe them nothing - immediately check your credit reports and then submit complaints/disputes to the BBB, FTC, CFPB, FCC, your state's Attorney General, and the credit bureaus.
