I'm up to 7 calls from this # today, at my work number. I'm no longer even bothering to pick up (I was leaving the receiver on my desk, not saying anything, till he hung up). How fun! (Sarcasm)
We recieved a call from the number and there is a lot of background noise like a call center environment. He, with an Indian accent, asked to speak to a member of our team by name. Asked what the call was in regard to and he said needed to talk to someone in the IT Department and that he was calling from Ohio State University on behalf of Dr. xxxx. He asked again for a team member by name that he was told this person is in the IT Dept - I said he is not part of that team and what did he really need???? IT or the Team Member - wanted the team members title now....I did not share and I guess he got frustrated and he hung up.
Just got a call from this number on my direct line at work. I didn't answer since I didn't recognize the number, and he must have pressed 0 to get the operator. Our front desk person transferred him to me - he told her his name was Fred Jones from UPS. When i got on the phone, he began the call with wanting to confirm my name and my job title. I asked who was calling, he said Fred Jones from UPS, then asked to confirm my name again. I just kept giving him a quick response of "ok..." and he kept asking. Then he asked to confirm my job title and I asked him what it was regarding. He said he was from UPS and he has a package for me and repeated my name and job title and then said he would send a follow up email to my email address & spelled out my email address. He started to confirm the address of my work & I hung up.
Got a call from an Indian guy looking for the owned of our company. I asked who he was and he said some BS from UPS. I said he is not avail. how can I help you and he hung up. Probably a magic jack or some other IP crap service looking to try to sell something.
