Just got a call from these idiots. They claim I owe for an unpaid payday advance, but could not provide me with the name of the company that issued it, nor could they tell me the date when the transaction took place, so I could review my bank statements. When I ask her, she refused to listen and threatened me with wage garnishment. She claimed to have my IP address, my social security number, etc. She also does not know the limits on payday loans in California. All payday transactions are settled through arbitration, not the courts. How can these people live with themselves?
They left me a VM threatening me with civil litigation. I called them back and tried to give them my attorney's number They refused to take it and again threatened me. Called my attorney and was told what they are doing is illegal. It was unsettling, especially because they had my name, home address, last 4 of my SSN, and place of employment
Total [***] ignore it and black them. No one in their right mind would pay somebody over the phone for a payday loan they never heard of in hopes that it would be resolved for pennies on the Dollar. Payday Loans are not going to take you to court they can only adjust your credit if it's legitimate. Judges would have a field day with these payday loan companies if they were to actually go to court. Most of the time they're illegal loans and there illegally scamming you for more money. Don't even waste your time answering their questions just tell them go ahead and serve me the paperwork and I'll have my attorney meet you in court thank you very much. Often times they just hang up because they're not getting the result they want and they move on to the next call on their phone list. It's a numbers game. If they call a thousand people a day one sucker is probably going to go ahead and pay the $500 or whatever they ask for.
