My caller said he was from "WINDOWS Support" not Microsoft. There is a difference. Microsoft is trademarked, copyrighted etc. windows is not and can't be. Anyone can say they work for windows, Microsoft is a different story.
He got all huffy when I called hin a "pakistani scammer". In retrospect his English was so good he is probably Filippino.
"Steve" from Windows Support at 8:37am this morning called about alleged problems with my Windows computer. I asked him how many people fell for his scam and he replied "shut up, you [***]" and hung up. Way to go scammers!
Same history as the other callers. We had calls the last two mornings at about the same time (8:15-8:30 AM) with later-found caller ID of 700002 (also south Asian Microsoft tech scam); the caller ID this morning had an area code from our same state (Minnesota), & looked more legit. I told him to remove our number from his call list. We seem to get these south Asian scammers about every four to six months for most of a week.
Got the call from these jokers this morning. The asked for a name different from ours. I let him know he had the wrong number and he then responded with "F**K you!" and hung up. Ridiculous.
