This is a phishing scam. Got a call and VM this morning from this number. The voicemail did a good job of making it sound like a legitimate call from American Express, with a reference number and extension. I called the actual American Express and they confirmed that this is not one of their numbers. Do not give any information to this number.
Lady called claiming amex asked for my last 4 of social and my address.
I have her as she did mentioned the right card I applied and I googled the number showing it's Utah amex.
Then after the call. She approved my card application and I did received an email from amex saying that my card is approved and I was able to link back to amex.com registration so I suppose it's legit
I got called. I do have an Amex card through my bank. They left a message to discuss recent transactions on my account. I've looked at my recent activity and nothing suspicious is going on. I did not even bother calling back or talking to them. No doubt it is a scam! My bank is very good at letting me know if there is suspicious activity. Don't fall for it people!
I got a call from this number showing a caller ID of Gina Rodriguez. Didn't leave a message and no idea of who this person is. Need these calls to stop
I received a call from this number and a voicemail stating it was American Express. I do not have an American Express card nor have I ever applied for one, and the voicemail asked my dad, I assuming because his name is attached to my phone & phone number. Seems suspicious to me and know I am wondering if someone is trying to open an account in his name. I read the mixed reviews on this site about the call, but I think I'll follow-up directly with American Express.
Received call saying they were from AmEx checking on application for a business Costco card I had applied for a few days ago. They informed me that the card was approved and I would have it by next week. After reading these posts I called AmEx using the number on the back of one of my cards - they verified the Utah number was theirs and everything is OK with the account. They gave me the same last date for arrival that the caller from Utah did. It appears to be legit.
